I was warmly received by all of the staff at Academia de Español D'Amore. I felt like I was placed at the right level of spanish and began my studies right away. My professors were organized and kept me on track with what I felt was a good blend of new information, practice in speaking what I had learned, and review. A wonderful introduction to life in Quepos and Manuel Antonio was given on my first day, informing us what to expect while living with a "tica" family. My home stay was a highlight of my month of studying. My mom was an amazing cook, and prepared typical Costa Rican foods daily and allowed me to participate in all that the family did. My accomodations, while basic, were more than adequate. I found myself very comfortable, and feeling like a true member of the family. I definitely considered it my "home" while I was in Costa Rica.
This part of the country is beautiful, with much to do and see. The staff at the school is incredibly helpful with making arrangements for touring nearby, and not so near by, areas of the country. I hope to come back again, not only for the beauty, but more so for the friendships I have made while studying here.
