Take a tripo through the canals on Damas Island where you can enjoy the beautiful beaches that are located here. There are some boats that offer great facilities. The trip last two or three hours and you will go along canals where you will be able to see a variety of birds, mammals and reptiles. The time to carry out this trip is during high tide. A little more to the north of the mouth of the Río Quepos you will find a break from the river mouth with rights and lefts. Normally here the breaks are larger that the closer breaks, especially in Quepos and Manuel Antonio. Like with other river mouths it is better to surf here when the sea is coming in. When the tide is going out could be take out by one of them. Another common feature of the river mouth of Boca Damas is the presence of crocodiles. On the right hand side of the southern river mouth, the surf is long, fast and some times makes tubes. On the north side it has a long left that you can get to by boat from Quepos or Damas.
Playa Isla Damas has a very good waves in the river mouth of the estuary with lefts and rights, even though its left has an excellent secion of tubes. This zone is known for tis abundant crocodiles. Its access is better by boat.

After you pass Parrita, the coastal road continues up to Quepos. It is all paved various bridges with two ways in very good condition. The African Palm plantations extend all along the way to Quepos, passing in front of small twons.
