VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES FOR 2009 - 2010

Costa Rica is a small and picturesque country located in Central America. It is bordered by Nicaragua to the north and Panama to the east. It is regarded as one of the most biologically intense places in the world and has grown to become one of the world's top ecotourism hotspots.

It is one of the smallest Latin American countries and home to around 4 million people.

Costa Ricans are known for their warmth,hospitality and peacefulness.

Costa Rica attracts more than a million tourists every year with its beautiful beaches, wildlife, forests and mainly for Eco tourism. More than a quarter of land mass has been set aside as protected reserves, the largest in the world.There are many famous National Parks and Forest Reserves throughout Costa Rica.

Academia de Español DAmore provides Volunteer Programs while study spanish in some areas like Wildlife Conservation, Teaching English and Healthcare. Our Programs are located in Manuel Antonio and Quepos areas.

National Park Manuel Antonio - Volunteers help rangers in activities such as; orienting the tourists, maintaining trails and buildings, information signs, protecting wildlife, office work and surveys.

Public schools of the area - Helping students with English classes in addition to recreational and educational activities.

PANI (abandoned and abused children) - Helping in educational and recreational activities that build the children’s self-esteem; some of these children are waiting to be adopted and some might return to their parents home depending upon the situation.

ASOMUFACQ - Recycling programs, women`s rights, drug prevention, handcraft workshops, restaurant management, English classes .

Roberta Felix Foundation - Organization to support handicapped poor people. Fundraising acivities.
